Knowledge Center Overview

 

The old truism "knowledge is power" has never been more true than it is today. Pegasus leverages it's knowledge and intellectual capital on a global basis through our global Knowledge Center. The Knowledge Center delivers in depth Industry, business processes and technology solution specific knowledge Pegasus has built and capitalized on through many successful engagements with top global and national clients.

The Knowledge Center promotes an integrated approach to identifying, capturing, retrieving, sharing, and evaluating all of Pegasus’ information assets. These information assets include invaluable information such as best practices, business process blueprints, generic and tailored methodologies, industry and market trends (both business and IT related), business case development templates, sample project deliverables and templates, detailed processes and procedures, training documentation, as well as tacit expertise acquired by our individual consultants through hands-on experience. 

In the end Pegasus’ Knowledge Centers of Excellence represent savings in time and money to our customers by compressing engagement duration as a result of capitalizing on existing and improved industry and solution expertise built into each project.

The Knowledge Center  captures Pegasus’ consulting and business expertise for each service we offer: Operational Strategy, Transformation Planning, Implementation Services, and Solution Optimization. The functional, technical or geographical scope and level of detail of each service will vary from client to client, but key information from previous projects such as solution approach, methodology, blueprints and any applicable hands-on experience will be used again to shorten project duration and reduce overall project investment.

The Knowledge Center has three areas of expertise with regards to the administration of Pegasus' intellectual Capital:

  • Business Processes: extensive library of best practices, benchmarks, and processes & procedures covering the full spectrum of a company's value chain (Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Distribution, Finance, Human Resources, Procurement), additionally to all industry specific processes 

  • Technology: We capture and re-use methodologies, accelerators, best practices, and process and configuration templates for: Enterprise applications (SAP, Siebel, Oracle, PeopleSoft, I2, Manugistics, etc.),  Development Tools (J2EE, VB, ABAP, .NET, etc.), and  Integration & Middleware (Tibco, WebMethods, XML, etc.).

  • Industry knowledge: captures Pegasus’ consulting and business expertise for emerging trends, unique business characteristics, best practices, and technical documentation in each of the following industry verticals:

An important capability of the Knowledge Center is the affiliation with research firms that provide Pegasus with business, industry, and emerging technology trends and analysis. The Knowledge Center captures and blends key information from firms such as AMR Research, Gartner Group, Giga, and Forrester. We combine this data with the hands-on experience of our consultants in the field and continuously publish valuable and insightful white papers that we share with prospects, clients and associates.   

The Knowledge Center also manages Pegasus' TeamOneTM proprietary methodology. TeamOneTM is a blend of the extensive experience gained by our consultants in the field, and  the best methodologies from our partners and clients. The knowledge Center ensures that all new project deliverables are converted into templates and accelerators that can easily be used in subsequent engagements. This has become a continuously evolving process that has vastly enriched our delivery capabilities.

Project Management Tools: Part of delivering a successful project on time and on budget is a consequence of a good project administration and management. Pegasus has extensive experience in managing large and complex projects involving functional and technical consultants, third party vendors and cross-functional client teams. Some examples of the Project management and administration tools Pegasus uses are:  

Project Planning: Activity determination, resource allocation, time line calculation and effort estimation templates for the implementation of enterprise applications.

Managing a project: Pre-defined Progress milestones, Risk mitigation techniques and work-around processes, cause and effect impact analysis templates for unplanned project delays, key performance indicators for standard progress reports and steering committee reports.

Change Management: In many projects, the most sensitive issues affecting project success or failure are coping adequately with corporate culture and user acceptance/resistance to change. Below is a sample of the tools Pegasus uses to deal with this matter.  

Communications plans: Keeping all those involved and employees affected by a project well informed, will create awareness and buy-in reducing organizational impact. Plans range from the creation of a project identity (name and logo), to a news and media plans for the different parties involved (media includes mail, bulletin boards, posters, news letters, lunch & learn sessions, corporate announcements, among others).   

Motivation plans: Different groups involved have different motivations that lead the overall project to a successful completion; From internal and external consultants, end users, management, to vendors and partners must be considered. Pegasus has identified where problem areas can arise and use several techniques to reduced anxiety levels and improve commitment.  

Education/Training plans: In addition to end-user training in enterprise application use when Pegasus performs implementations, all those affected directly or indirectly by a project must go through an initial training and refresher courses programmed periodically. From stress management techniques to time management and even technical courses, must be planned, prepared and organized. Pegasus has developed this material for most of the projects any company will encounter and must only be tailored to fit particular client needs.

Implementation Accelerators: Pegasus has developed global accelerators that reflect proven methodologies, templates and best practices, helping to jump-start quality projects and implementations. These templates and accelerators assist our consultants in responding to business issues with a series of industry-specific solutions, services, programs and thought leadership.
